Modalities to be covered

This module will introduce the field of expressive art therapy, highlighting its importance in mental health care. Participants will learn about various art forms and how they can be used therapeutically to facilitate self-expression and emotional healing.
Participants will gain an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of expressive art therapy, including key psychological theories and concepts. This module will provide the foundation for integrating art therapy into clinical practice.
This module focuses on the use of visual arts, such as painting, drawing, and sculpture, as therapeutic tools. Participants will learn techniques to encourage self-expression and emotional release through visual arts.
Participants will explore the therapeutic use of music, including listening, composing, and performing. The module covers the benefits of music therapy for emotional regulation, stress reduction, and cognitive functioning.
This module addresses the role of dance and movement in therapy. Participants will learn how to facilitate movement-based sessions that promote physical and emotional well-being.

Meet the Facilitator

Ms. Varsha Punarvasu

Ms. Varsha Punarvasu provides extensive experience in her role as a facilitator. With over 7 years of experience, she is a licenced Counselling Psychologist, CID-UNESCO Certified Expressive Art Therapist, Yoga Instructor, and Social Worker. Her diverse experience enables her to employ a wide range of treatments, including CBT, DBT, ACT, art-based therapies, and psychodynamic techniques for varied mental health issues including personality-related disorders, depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, and family issues.

Ms. Punarvasu has considerable experience leading workshops and one-on-one sessions for a variety of clients, including children, adults, and corporate teams. She has given more than 60 seminars around India and is experienced in taking training programs for budding psychologists, corporate training like leadership and management, work-life balance, team-play and so on. She has a very holistic approach to knowledge. She employs a multifaceted teaching approach that incorporates lectures and readings for foundational knowledge, hands-on workshops and creative exercises for experiential learning, group discussions and peer feedback for collaborative exploration, case study analysis for practical application, and reflective journaling for self-discovery.

Final Evaluation and Certification Process

A Minimum of 90% attendance is required to be eligible for the certification

The assessment will be done based on self-work as well as the final submission of the portfolio

Failure to meet any requirements will lead to no eligibility for the certification
